In the Doctrine of Christ, we find Jesus speaking of mercy. "Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy." (Matthew 5:7) A little later on, He quotes His Father from the Scriptures in Hosea 6:6 and encourages His audience to "Go ye and learn what that meaneth, 'I will have mercy, and not sacrifice:' for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." (Matthew 9:13) So what is mercy, and how do we find it? Is it new to the New Covenant, or can we find it throughout the Old Covenant Scriptures? Is God merciful to all? Are there different levels of His mercy? How long can we trust His mercy to last? How vital is mercy? I wanna know.
