Some define the longsuffering of God as "postponing His wrath toward the sinner and bestowing to him the gift of repentance unto salvation." But is there a limit to His longsuffering? In Matthew 21, we read parables about a fig tree and a vineyard. What do they symbolize, and to whom were they directed? We know the Old Covenant was given to the House of Israel and the House of Judah, but to whom was the New Covenant given? When Jesus died, scripture tells us that He "went and preached unto the spirits in prison." Who were these spirits? We inherit the iniquity of our relatives, but can we create a new line of iniquity that we pass along to our children and beyond? I wanna know.
